FAQ
How long will I wait for my cards?
An average order of 30 cards takes approximately 5 business days to complete, from the time of placing your email order to the time your photo cards are mailed to you. For very large orders the process can take 7 - 10 working days, but we will tell you when you place your order if we expect the order to take longer than 5 business days to complete.
How does the ordering process work?
When you have chosen your design, send us an email with your pictures attached, outlining which design you would like. We will email you a proof within 24 - 48 hours. Check that you are happy with the draft, and let us know if you want any changes made (you get 3 amendment proofs free of charge). Once you are happy with the design, and have made your payment, your order will be printed up in our next print run (twice a week, each Tuesday and Saturday).
What exactly is it that I will receive?
The Photo Cards are just like photos that you would have printed up at a photo lab. However we have spent a lot of time sourcing the best quality print services available, and do not use DIY print kiosks. The printing process is as important as the design and quality control process. Our cards are a keepsake as much as they are a thank you card or an invitation, and we want them to 'go the distance', so using archival quality photo paper and the best printing techniques and machinery are a must.
Oh...and you get quality white envelopes, free of charge.
Can I have a message printed on the back?
Yes,pre-printed messages can be ordered for the back of your cards for an additional fee - see Prices & Ordering. We use a font to match the design of the front, and the wording choice is all yours, or you can ask us for some suggested quotes or wording samples. We print the message onto a white paper backing and trim each photo card very carefully by hand. This can be a time-consuming process and you can expect your order to take a few days to complete - we will advise you of the estimated completion time when finalising your order.
I like a design from your website, but want a different font. Is this ok?
You get 3 amendment proofs free of charge. This is your chance to request any colour, font or wording changes, or anything else you might like. After this, any further amendment proofs will cost $2.00 per proof. Fonts and colour choices are changeable, as is the placement of your photos and the wording used, so please don't hesitate to ask.
How do I send the photos to you?
Simply attach your photos to the email you send us. Make sure you don't reduce the size of the images when sending them. A good quality photo will result in a fantastic card. Any reduction in the size or quality of the photo for the purpose of sending will impede the quality of your photos when the cards are printed. We will let you know if we think the quality of the photo will impact on the finished product.
If scanning the photos in, please make sure your scanner is set up to scan at 300dpi.
How can I take a nice picture of my baby?
Some tips for great baby photos, to get the most of your memories and your cards!
* Lay your baby on a plain coloured blanket or sheet. Black or white sheets have the most dramatic effect, but any coloured sheet will do. Avoid patterened sheets or sheets with pictures and illustrations - these will distract from your babies gorgeous features.
* Get as close to your baby as you can. This will result in much clearer pictures than using the zoom on your camera.
* Use natural lighting and avoid using your flash. Spend some time watching how the sun works in every room of your house to find the best room for your photo shoot, the room with the nicest natural light.
* Make the room as warm as possible, and make sure baby has a full tummy. A hungry or cold baby will not be a patient model for very long.
* Take photos from above, looking down on your baby, and get down on your babies level. Changing the angles will make for more interesting photos.
* Don't forget to take photos of those precious fingers and toes!
